Strong For Everyone: OHS transgender student refused use of boy’s bathroom, strives for change.

 On Feb. 22, the Trump Administration revoked directives which provided guidance to appropriate school bathrooms for transgender students. On Feb. 23, Lyle Howard was told if he used the boy’s bathroom at Ozark High School, he would face disciplinary action. Today, the sophomore and his mother, Meghan Howard, fight the school’s decision, not only for Lyle, but other Ozark High School transgender students.

“I’ve been dealing with hate since the third grade. And, for a while, I just laid back and took it,” Lyle said. “I’m not going to take it anymore. This is for any other transgender person in Missouri. I have to be strong for them. I have to be strong for everyone.”
